Past Events
Since our founding in 2018, Latinx LIFE has dedicated itself to uplifting and empowering the Hispanic community.
While our initial efforts included tackling environmental and educational concerns, we have evolved to operate with an environmentally conscious approach, while focusing on DACA recipients, educational equity, and civic advocacy.
Every movement is intersectional, that is why we collaborate with community leaders across the state to scale a portfolio of innovative and immersive community programs.

Policy Advocacy
We champion policies that empower the Latinx community by addressing inequities and ensuring representation in decision-making processes. Our advocacy uplifts marginalized voices and ensures they resonate where decisions are made.

Past Events:
- Through our Together Podemos initiative, we host transformative events for college students to demystify the complexities of our election system, teach them how they can actively participate, and provide tools to navigate election-related stress—all in a non-partisan and empowering way. These events cultivate informed, engaged leaders who drive change within their communities.
- During the 2020 elections, we safeguarded democracy by providing poll protection in Rockingham County and Guilford County parts of North Carolina, enabling individuals to vote freely and without fear. We supplied people with warm hot cocoa, hand warmers, and snacks as they waited in line to cast their ballot.
- In 2024, we advocated for equitable access to early voting by representing minority communities at Board of Elections meetings in Rockingham County and Forsyth County, securing more early voting locations in those counties. We also sent a letter to local and state officials in collaboration with other voting equity champions across NC.

Educational Equity
Access to quality education is a fundamental right. We work tirelessly to close the achievement gap, provide resources, and create opportunities that empower Hispanic students to thrive academically and beyond.
Importantly, we provide support for all students, ensuring privacy and respect, and offer resources tailored to those for whom English is not their first language, ensuring inclusivity in all we do.

Past Events:
- To further this mission, we host panels of recent and current college students to provide insights on achieving college success. Past panels have taken place in Guilford County at a high school and college. Students and parents were invited.
- In 2021, we sponsored a Hispanic student at UNCG with a computer as a part of the inaugural Technology Scholarship in partnership with ALPFA.
- We also organize financial aid nights for parents and students in high school and college, ensuring they have the tools to navigate the complexities of funding education.
- Additionally, we offer a yearly scholarship of $1,500 available to graduate students in North Carolina, supporting their pursuit of higher education. For the first 5 years, this scholarship was for undergraduate students regardless of status. Today, we offer it to Dreamers pursuing Graduate degrees.
Health
The Latinx LIFE is deeply committed to promoting mental health awareness within the Latinx community. We recognize the unique challenges faced by our community members and strive to create a supportive environment that encourages open discussions about mental well-being. Through various initiatives, we provide culturally relevant resources, workshops, and support networks aimed at reducing stigma and improving access to mental health services. Our goal is to empower individuals to prioritize their mental health and seek the help they need, fostering a culture of understanding and resilience. Together, we can break down barriers and cultivate a healthier future for all.

Dreamers
We stand with Dreamers, recognizing their contributions and the value they bring to society. We help these individuals pursue their goals without fear, empowering them to build brighter futures for themselves and their communities.

Past Events:
- We have been able to sponsor 5 Dreamers in NC and Tennessee with renewing their DACA by donating $2,500 to this initiative.
- On our social media sites, you can find more information about the importance of DACA in our society.
- To raise awareness and educate those unfamiliar with the challenges Dreamers face, we have hosted engaging bingo fundraisers. These events provided a fun and interactive way for participants to learn about the program while supporting a critical cause.
- Unfortunately, we are unable to sponsor more Dreamers at this time, but we are actively fundraising to expand our reach. Click here to donate.
