32, 920, the number of DACA eligible North Carolinians.

In 2012, President Obama issued the DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) executive order after the Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act did not pass in Congress several times.
The young people impacted by DACA and the DREAM Act are often referred to as “Dreamers.”
DACA allows some undocumented young people, who came to the U.S. as children; to work, go to school, get a driver’s license, and live in the US for two years.
-
23,050 currently active DACA recipients live in NC.
Their fate to remain in this country that they were brought to as children, is frozen. The ongoing litigation keeps DACA closed to new applicants and there is fear of termination of the program. Currently there is no pathway to citizenship directly through DACA.
Latinx LIFE believes supports everyone’s chance to live here regardless of their direct financial economic impact, but if that kind of stuff is important to you, when choosing what legislation to support - here are the figures:
92.9% of DACA labor force is employed and they contributed $130.7 million in federal, state, & local taxes last year.

Here at Latinx LIFE, we believe in the power of community because we know the lasting impact a supportive community has on our lives. It’s our goal to relieve the financial stress of the renewal so that a Dreamer can channel their energy to pursue bettering their community and we need your help.
We are asking that our community joins us as we fundraise to cover the cost of the application. Any size donation will help us to build critical support for the Dreamers in our community.
